Simon Telen

I am a research group leader at Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, Leipzig. I obtained my masters in mathematical engineering in 2016 from KU Leuven (Belgium) and finished my PhD in the NUMA section at the same university in September 2020. I did my first postdoc at MPI MiS Leipzig. In June 2022, I moved to Amsterdam, and then back to MPI MiS Leipzig in April 2023. I think it's fascinating how abstract mathematics can have important applications. Outside math, my most important hobbies are music, sports and traveling. I frequently go to festivals and concerts. I also sing and play the keys. I'm into running, hiking, winter sports and cycling. I have a beautiful dog called Mauro, you can find his picture below.
